Weston Rolls Stars

Memorial Day weekend started off poorly as Weston crushed our Sudbury Stars.  It was a battle between first place teams, but the faster and more technically sound Thunder had their way all game.  Sage played goalie in the first half.  It was going well until one of her own defenders scored on her.  Not much she can do to anticipate that.  Another goal came on a nice passing cross that materialized after a scrum for the ball.  Sage tried to get the save, but it was just out of her reach.

The Stars made it 2-1 early in the second half as Sage made a long pass which led to a break-away goal by our striker.  However, the Thunder quickly responded with two soft goals.  Our goalie in the second half did not have one of her best days.  The Stars are now in second place with three tough games left.  Next stop is away to Millis on Saturday.  The last home game is Saturday June 6th at 10:30.
