Camp Gramp Week Two

Week two of Camp Gramp hit the road. A big field trip to the Roger Williams Zoo in Providence RI for the green campers. Everyone got tattoos! Snakes were very popular, as were the special glasses. A run to the candy store and more beach time filled the rest of the days. Good times.

Rayne's Birthday Party

Rayne's second birthday party or 'Elmo Party' as Rayne called it was great day. All her friends came at 11 for the kids portion of the party. There were little ones everywhere. Elmo was also everywhere. Kristin and Aline created a giant balloon rainbow that circled a hand painted Elmo. Rayne really enjoyed the Elmo cake as well. She ran until 2:30 before finally crashing for her nap. The parents enjoyed a relaxing afternoon in the sun... basking in all the joy.
Thanks to everyone who came and helped to make such a special day for Rayne.

Camp Gramp Week One

Camp Gramp 2009 got off to a rowdy start as all the McClure cousins stormed the beach. The party spilled over from the family reunion weekend as Sage, Rayne, CC, Zoe and Lizzie filled the camp. Major events were hanging at the beach and paddle boat fun. Camp colors this year are Green and all campers had their special Camp Gramp Tee shirt for their field trips. Sage gets four trips and Rayne will have two as she so desperately wants to run with the big kids.

McClure Family Reunion

McClure family reunion weekend brought in the relations from all over the US. We all got to both reacquaint and meet our distant cousins from Texas and recent transplants from Ohio. The little ones had a blast as CC, Zoe and Lizzie all ran wild with Sage. Matching bathing suits and pajamas were huge hits. Not as good as the ice cream truck, but then again what can top that guy. High meal of the event was the classic NE clam boil. Hopefully Sage is now ready to start setting these up for us all the time. Laila even had a great day.

Deer Camp 2009

The Deep Camp experience had everything a good vacation should... ice cream, fireworks, tie dye and best of all no cell phone for five days. Sage was even more adventurous this year as she went on a five mile kayak trip down to Slate Run. This was after an eight mile bike ride and a three hour tube cruise the day before. Rayne had a blast hanging out with Justin and Hutch. She also enjoyed celebrating her birthday at Camp. Poor Laila had to stay home. Maybe next year she will be ready for the woods.

Soccer Hall of Fame

The second road trip of the summer sent us west to Deer Camp in the deep woods of PA. On the way, we hit the Soccer Hall of Fame in Oneonta NY. Who knew that Oneonta was a center of soccer? Sage enjoyed the exhibits and the interactive games. She was able to head a ball past Brianna Scurry and had her powerful kick clocked at 39 MPH. Rayne's kick measured 4 MPH. Might need some coaching there.

Sage California Dreamin

Sage started summer vacation off quickly as she jetset to the west coast with her Gigi. The trip to San Diego was to visit Maggie and Gwen. She hit the beach, Animal Park and had a great time hanging with her cousins.

Road Trip: Yaya and Papi's House

Kristin's 20th high school reunion in Denver PA kicked off the summer travel season. With Laila and Ray in the back seat, we made the trek. Rayne hit the pool and Laila had a great time running about with Wally. Next road trip will be over the 4th to Onset and Harwich Port.
