Dynasty Clinch the Championship

Sage's soccer team endured the Saturday heat wave and melted the Millis Assault on their way to clinching the U9 Division A2 Championships. This is the second year in a row that Sage's team has topped the division.

Saturday's game was 95 degrees and no shade. Even the spectators were roasting. Sage played an inspired game as a wing. Her passing set up the first two goals.

The real excitement came late in the second half. Sage finally notched her first goal of the year. She split two defenders just outside the goal box and blasted a shot over the head of the goalie. It was a very aggressive play that ended with all three players tangled in a heap of bodies. The goal came with 5 minutes left and boosted the score to 4-2. At that point, several of the Millis players were exhausted from the heat. Tears starting coming and the coaches made the right move to call the game at that point.

This was Sage's new sister's first game. Sage had promised that she would score for her at breakfast. She totally came through for baby Jura.

Rayne Crawling and Cruising

Rayne is now a girl in full motion. She is fast enough that she will sneak out of the room given the opportunity. Walking is not far behind. Check out the video and enjoy her growth.

Sage Experiments with Gravity

As we all know, Sage loves to climb things... jungle gyms, swings, playsets, and yes, trees. Evidently, not all trees enjoy being climbed by Sage. Sunday night Sage was about 10 feet up, when the branch she was on broke. On her way down she was able to hook another limb, but that one also broke. The old rock-a-bye lullaby came true and down came Sage, cradle and all. She escaped major injury, although she suffered a significant cut and abrasion on her inside arm. Sage was extremely brave through the ordeal. I think we are going to take a couple weeks off from climbing.

Dynasty Challenged

The Sudbury Dynasty are getting a real challenge this year playing in Bays Division A. Every game is a physical battle between the towns in our new league. Still the girls have fought to earn 4 wins and a tie in the first 8 games. They are currently in first place, but the last two games of the year will decide the league championship. Sage has been playing well as a goalie and a center halfback. She is starting to use her size, strength and speed to control the ball better. At league tryouts for next Fall, she scored twice and posted a shutout in three games.
Stay tuned for updates on the final two games!

Cupcake Bliss

Rayne had her first chocolate cupcake this week. Executive decision made by Kristin if you were wondering who's idea this was. It was a total mess. Happy girl, but we are still trying to get the chocolate out of her hair. The rest of the photo have been uploaded to a web album. Enjoy
